This trendy coffee recipe from Macau, often attributed to South Korea (and named after a popular Korean candy), offers a fun, easy twist on whipped coffee that’s sure to energize your day. Dalgona translates to “it’s sweet,” and this coffee lives up to its name. With three ingredients total, this drink is smooth, simple, and just delightful. Check out the recipe below to get started!
Ingredients
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of our Classic Roast Instant Coffee (alternatively, 2 tablespoons is about 5 of our instant sticks)
- 2 tablespoons of water
- Optional: crushed ice or toffee (for topping)
Instructions
- Combine the instant coffee, sugar, and water in a bowl.
- Mix the combination using what is available, a whisk, hand mixer, or frother to whip the mixture until it becomes light brown, thick, and frothy. Mix for about about 5-7 minutes, or until the desired consistency is achieved.
- Fill a glass with the cup of milk.
- Pour your whipped coffee mixture over the glass of milk.
- Stir the whipped coffee into the milk before drinking.
- Top with crushed ice, toffee, or whipped cream.
