Changes in the Coffee Industry

Our commitment to doing the right thing remains the same

Rising Coffee Costs

In 2025, Arabica coffee beans hit record-high prices amid unprecedented challenges in the global coffee industry. Extreme weather has severely limited crop yields, while global supply chain disruptions have led to a shortage of green (raw) coffee beans. These combined pressures have rapidly affected the coffee industry and how we do business at Cameron’s.

At our roastery in Shakopee, MN, we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering the smooth, high-quality, affordable coffee you love. Despite rising costs and supply uncertainties, our passion for sustainably sourced specialty-grade beans guides our process and every decision.

How We Source Coffee

We’ve designed our sourcing approach to support farmers, protect local environments, and uplift communities. We require all the farmers we partner with to adhere to rigorous ethical standards through our strict supplier code of conduct—standards that safeguard food quality and improve the livelihoods of coffee producers. Given current challenges, it is more important than ever for us to secure fair compensation for the farmers who grow our delicious beans, ensuring they can adapt to weather and industry uncertainties.

Prosperity, Planet, and People

Our Prosperity, Planet, and People framework designs a sustainable journey from harvest to roast to build a positive social, environmental, and economic impact. Here are our pillars:

  • Less Waste In Packaging (87% of our packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable.)
  • Less Waste Discarded (98% of our waste is reused, over 325 tons.)
  • Greener Facilities (6.3% decrease in energy consumption due to renewable energy sources.)

We also invest in sustainable practices and community support for coffee farmers, including education, empowerment, and more. Despite industry challenges, we’re determined to push forward and do the right thing—for you, the environment, and the hardworking farmers who make it all possible.
